Yep, it's bad. Here in Downers Grove (SW 32 mi. from downtown  Chi-Town) the retention ponds are near overflowing and low intersections have 1'-2' of water. The major highways in/out of Chicago are 1/2 flooded from the extremely heavy rains.  My place is fine but my still driving 86 year old  Mom did not move her old Crown Vic from her condo's underground garage when it had 3" of water yesterday. She was just told this a.m. it's in 3' of water!  Ouch.

I took the John Deere A to get gas this morning. The 818 got wet and I did not want to risk starting it. The water was 2/3 up a 40 inch tire on the main road. Schools are closed and the firehouse is flooded.

We got 20"+ of heavy slurpee-like snow from this storm out here in Colorado over three days.  It's been a blessing for us though, we need the water or we'll be brushing our teeth with dust out of the tap come summer.
