Sohc header primary tube sizing

Just getting ready to fabricate a set of headers for my pond heads. Just curious what size of primaries people are running? Motor is for the street.

I would go 2 1/8", since you have a lot of cubes. 2" might be OK too, or you could make some stepped headers that went 2" - 2 1/8" - 2 1/4".

I for one have never considered larger to be a killer of power. I mean we build these things to have fun when we release the hounds @ WOT. And I know I am posting to a SOHC. But in my wedge side I run a 3" dual on a 390 does it kill of a few HP down low YES. Does it hang longer up top YOU BET! And does it ever make that GOD AWEFULL FE SONG !!!!
