FE Technical Forum / A couple of FEs with actual weights
« on: May 01, 2024, 03:58:16 PM »
I thought you all may find this interesting

459 inch 428, BT intake, iron heads, SCAT crank and I-beams, Racetecs, hyd roller, Morels, alum water pump, no flywheel, no carb, engine stands bolted on, with 7.5 qts oil - 529 lbs
433 inch 428, CJ iron intake, iron heads, Ford Crank, Molnar rods, Racetecs, hyd roller, Morels, iron water pump, no flywheel, no carb, engine stands bolted on, 6 qts oil -582 lbs

Figured I'd weigh them for laughs..off to the pump!  Even a Ram 2500 HD has a little squat with these two big girls in the back!

This was a fun one, admittedly a lot of work fixing some odd things from a prior Cleveland specialist, but in the end a lot of fun and turned out very happy and healthy.  We made a number of runs, all hitting 7K and was happy all morning.  Pump gas and not a ton of overlap will make it very happy in a street Mustang with a Tremec

« on: February 12, 2024, 07:37:54 AM »
I have a brand new LSM-600 valve spring tester, unopened box, unless you want me to open it before shipping :)

I ended up with my original Intercomp and another spare Rimac. They range from 430 to 499, looking for 400 plus shipping from 68113.

Check, Venmo, precious stones and hunks of gold welcome :)

Same as in this link, internet picture added, still in box

FE Technical Forum / 63 or 64 Galaxie and TW or MR hood clearance
« on: December 01, 2023, 08:49:32 AM »
Galaxie guys, can you fit a TW or MR intake under a stock 63/64 Gal hood.  Intent would likely be 1/4 inch phenolic w/Holleys, and some sort of decent air filters

Thanks!

I have an Excalibur engine hoist and extended the upper arm is 76 inches overall, 58 from ram to hook.  Most others run 10+ inches shorter

I want to buy a new one, but need the reach.  Anyone know of a company that sells something like that?  Excalibur seems to be out of business

Thanks in advance

Private Classifieds / Trick Flow heads, assembled, 1.46 springs, NIB
« on: April 26, 2023, 12:55:33 PM »
Jay, let me know if you prefer me going in the vendor selection, but because I usually sell only in my builds, I rarely peddle parts and don't intend to

However, I have a customer who changed plans on a build.  If anyone needs a set, I have an extra set of new, unused Trick Flow assembled  heads, 1.46 springs, Part number TFS-56417001-C00

2350 for the pair plus shipping, no tax outside of Nebraska, and if you have cam specs, would blueprint them and document for the price.   Additionally, can set up with your specific spring requirements if wanting to do something special for cost of seals and spring assemblies,  but these are NIB assembled ready to go for most flat tappets.

I did some trading and ended up with a beautiful set of NIB Holley refurb 450 mechanical secondaries. These are not used carbs, generally Holley catches them on QC.  They tend not to be mainstream FE carbs, but I have used carbs like them on 390s, a 454 med riser, and a stock-ish 428 PI with success. Even made 550 hp with the vac secondary version on a 462.  In the end though, without a build planned for them, looking to flip  They go for up to 500 a piece, looking for 500 for the pair plus the ride or BO. Thanks!

Thanks!!!!
