Are the pics of the heads on the website current? I ask since the upper exhaust bolt holes shown on the website are the same as stock heads and not "blind" holes. I honestly don't know how a blind hole would stand the test of time, but I have had numerous experiences with those upper exhaust bolts in stock heads.

The BBM's come with the traditional type upper exhaust hole with a steel thread insert.
I like the traditional look myself and think it adds to the overall look of a well dressed FE.
The Edelbrock/TFS blind hole works great, but it looks well... Edelbrock. ::)

As mentioned by Howie, the Edelbrock and TFS heads have blind upper exhaust bolt holes, with a non OE looking "bulb" on the backside. Considering that I have never had any factory FE head ever break off an exhaust bolt that is blind, but that is very common with the open upper holes, I really see no downside to having all the exhaust bolt holes blind, other than "it doesn`t look factory". That said, the vast majority of FE engines in use these days are more recreational, and not likely to rack up many thousands of miles of daily driving, in all weather conditions, so I really doubt having the open holes will really be an issue for most FE owners.
Since the TFS, Blue Thunder, and Edelbrock heads, are in long term back order, (not sure about the situation with Barrys Survival heads, but considering he has them cast at Edelbrock, likely similar), anybody looking to obtain some aluminum FE heads might be wise to get these while they are available.

I use a grubscrew stud and half nut in one of my header bolts I can just remove the nut screw the stud in and I can get my headers on and off in the car. You just can get a bolt in that hole with the engine in the car. Can't do that with blind holes I think the bolt braking thing was more a 50 year old rusty iron head problem.

I keep forgetting about the desire for the "factory look" since it is necessary in some cases. Anything I would use them on won't be a daily driver so ultimately it is of no consequence.

I wish they would do another batch of Tunnelwedge intakes. Been out for a while....

Trickflow doesn't have heads available at the moment, but they do have the Tunnelwedge intakes (https://www.trickflow.com/parts/tfs-56400114) readily available. At this point in time, it seems like getting components is a multi-vendor endeavor for just about everything needed to assemble a complete engine.
