I wonder what kind of gases come off of the burning battery. but I am sure it is environmentally friendly.

Oh Yes,  Let's see people.  Which is most costly - replacing two tires on a fun to drive, not everyone has vehicle or replacing an entire car that can only go 300 miles before needing a recharge and can burn up at any time?  The answer goes a long way to determine your ability to do common tasks.
