Question on your carb.
Does it have mixture screws in the base plate on the primary's hidden by black epoxy in the front two legs of the base plate?
Turning them would adjust fuel to all four barrels which allowed a great idle with the big overlap camshaft.
It still used the ones in the primary metering block all you do is set them @ 1 1/2 turns out them install air cleaner. Run the engine or drive it get it hot and then open the hood and fine tune the base plate screws.
It came on my 1967 Fairlane GT 390 2.78 wide ratio 4sp and had the 304/324, .481"/.498" valve lift, 84 overlap camshaft purple stripe not the pink stripe 270/290, .481/490" valve lift, 46 overlap that cam in the automatic cars.
Just like carbs built with four corner idle screws but back in 67 and easy.
My brother sold his old wooden Chris-Craft 327 with my carb on it I wanted to smack him......Oh well.
