Showed up in mailbox today. I knew the former owner and have met and hung with the current one who has done a great job with the car. Car has been in my neck of woods for decades. Perhaps some of you saw it at the CJ Reunion or at the FE R&R last year. IMO should have made the cover!

The big weekend is here for the Kissimmee auction week. I review the menu and make lot number notes, set the DVR and then watch at my convenience. Today’s roster includes four R codes, included in that group is a one of 102 66 Galaxie. Also a highly decorated 67 Fairlane ‘vert and a King Cobra. I think the Super Snake goes today also but that may be tomorrow. Also Ed Terry’s Fairlane must be tomorrow, I did not see it listed for tonight. Also tonight a s#&”load of big block ‘Stangs

FE Technical Forum / Bringing an NOS service block 427 to builder tomorrow

My 483 suffered a broken exhaust valve in number one and the “P” block that it is built upon is thin on a few cylinders and will need at least another .005 to get things cleaned up. It could still be built at 4.260 or maybe go out to 4.270 for some off the shelf Diamonds. At that point a few cylinders would be at .100 on major thrust sides. So I’m gonna see what amount of beef this NOS block has and decide which one to build. It’s an October 2, 1971 service block that I picked up a few years back.

FE Technical Forum / Convert progressive 2x4 linkage to one to one.

I wish to try one to one linkage on my tunnel wedge equipped 483. Can this be done using the OEM 2 x 4 linkage set-up? If modifying any of the components is required that is fine. I expect the carbs to match from off idle to WOT. I also expect some retuning of the carbs as a result of this change but I’m down for that. Anyone have a pic of what they have done? Thanks much, JB

Running a Dorman or maybe a Raysbestos mc in my 67 Fairlane to clear my cast pent roofs. It is ugly and my brakes are nothing to brag about. Anybody running a small bore mc that does not have the cheap looking plastic reservoir AND will clear pent roofs?
