The older I get, the more surprised I am that we didn't all die.

The guy so eager to tell everyone else how to behave had me going....

It seems lucky the "tank" didn't fall through the floor into the basement and get stranded.

Kerry,

Many years ago I had a 4100 carb, brand new float,  sink  (at least I think that's what happened), and spewed fuel out the vent, ignited and burned the car down.

Sounds like that is not your problem but something to consider.

I think that was made in the "photoshop".  I would like to hear what a 12 cylinder FE sounds like at 7000+ rpm though.   ;D

paulie

A V-12 might not sound as cool as one hopes. At this you- tube link is a Falconer V-12 which I believe is based on small block $hevy  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHTTBi4vjwQ

In Minnesota we are at the end of a record breaking March, with 8 days in the 70s while average temperatures are typically in the high 30s to high 40s.  It is unbelievably nice here.  More, please... :D

Wouldn't it be terrible to live in California and enjoy such good weather all year long...... :D

Heard on another forum Grumpy Jenkins had passed away.

Albeit a Chevy guy, it is sad to think we are loosing these icons that in my mind are not from so long ago.  Seems like the 70's and 80's were just yesterday.....

My niece just moved to Seattle and I heard today that she can expect almost 1 week of cloudy weather and heavy rain from a front that stretches across the entire northern Pacific! Can't say I didn't warn her about the Seattle area weather.

Yes, I didn't even mention the rain (because this is near Seattle) but that too has been nearly incessant.  I don't mind spring rain but 100 days of low-lurking grey clouds is hard on the psyche.

I was expecting our favorite local BC Super Shifters to perhaps convoy over to sunnier territory......

Hope you guys in the mid-west are enjoying it.......

Our youngest son goes to school in South Dakota so it is interesting to compare weather between him and us in the "mild" pacific northwest.

Since he returned from spring break March 10th South Dakota has been enjoying summerish 60+ degree weather, kids wearing T-shirts and a few days with breeze.  I've heard the nice weather includes twin Cities region and extends all the way up into Winterpeg Manitoba also.

In that same period of time we've had three snow falls, and seven severe windstorms including last night again.   >:(

At times we put up with strange behavior from car guys because they have cool parts, or sometimes just because they are car guys and not inclined towards the ways and means of business or legal world.

But when such characters initiate counter suits all pretense of innocence is lost. Could be a criminal intent or could be a runaway ego, either way it is difficult to understand the apparent tolerance for this misconduct on the other forum.

I think the "good vendor" forum is great, and thanks Jay.

Anybody in the Seattle/Portland or Vancouver BC area have some nice doors and a trunk lid?

The ones I've got are not terrible, hoping to upgrade.

Somebody put a lot of time and effort into that. Good job Howie, and has it been a long winter?

We could start making jokes about how many skeletons are in your closet...... (groan).

If your are suspicious of the seller, but still desire the item, you could play the same game: offer substantially less simply because it appears a shill or insincere bidder ran the price up.

Thanks for posting this.  Not to make light of a tragic situation but it is an interesting combination that could explain some of life's other failings:

1) the young pilot was already nervous, which the article states might have blanked out creative thinking. In retrospect on bad situations one might wonder "what were you thinking" when in fact, that part of the brain might be shut down.

2) some of the Controls don't give feedback, so the young pilot might have been unaware he was pulling back.  Apparently the human mind is capable of blanking out a stall alarm so he might have similarly blanked out the notion he was pulling back on the stick. Very frustrating to read that part, but the article partially explains it as a human defense mechanism.

3) the senior pilot wasn't communicated the joystick position. Assumption is he had no idea the stick was pulled back and would have immediately recognized the error with with minimum feedback.

A bit humbling to read

Need a dual scale dyno: on set of real numbers and another set of magazine numbers.
