Thrust bearing flange thickness and diameter
« on: November 28, 2021, 12:07:11 PM »
I think this has come up before, but I can't find it...

Is there a difference in thrust flange thickness and diameter (the part of the bearing that fits into the machined area in the main saddle) when comparing Sealed Power 125M (FE) and 146M (Cleveland)?  And how do those compare to Clevite MS1010HK (Cleveland) in terms of fitment?

Do certain thrust bearings need to be "massaged" more than others?

Thanks
Phil

The 125M and 146M use the same thrust bearing.

You won't find many differences unless you're working with a really old block and then you will need a reduced OD thrust bearing.  On new blocks, doesn't really matter.

Thanks Brent.  I've never had issues with 125M bearings, but I was thinking of trying the Clevite MS1010 bearings because the .001 undersize are readily available but the 125M 1X .001 undersize are really hard to find anymore.

I doubt you'll have any trouble with any of them.
