Well the plot has thickened yet again ! Had the engine all together and up on the dyno set timing and just checking things over pulled dipstick and found "frothy" oil, was running 6 qts in 7qt pan as a test. Added extra qt to no avail.
So here is what has happened over many weekends. Ended up finding that pump was pushing oil out at input shaft and "froth" there.
Reworked an old pump and put all back together, oil pressure was down about 20 psi running on drill which made us happier was about 70 psi before on drill. My buddy was running it later in the week as he tries not to offend neighbors with dyno runs after a certain time in evenings. Checked the oil and found water in oil checked her over and came up with manifold leak in one corner. So machined manifold to set more uniform and figured it was fixed. I had went down and spent a day cleaning the gunk out of everything and re assembling. Again he had it running later in week and found water in oil. So took her off the dyno as he had another engine coming in for testing. Made some block off plates for water jacket and found the real culprit a crack in valley above a couple lifter bores. Hairline crack but I decided we aren't attempting any repairs on that block.
So yesterday went down and disassembled that engine inspecting for anything that could have been damaged, no issues thankfully.
Loaded my original 428 block up and gauged the bores to see where we were with them. Ordered new pistons to work with the stroker kit for these bores. Once they arrive can finish machine this block and get it all back together.
It's been an interesting time with all of this.

I had a 390 block that was cracked there. It did not show up on pressure test. could idle it no water in oil but as soon as i steped on it there was water in the oil
Discovered the crack when i was grinding on the block, the grinding dust formed a line along the crack like magnafluxing

I finally figured out why I couldn’t get the hydraulic clutch system to bleed on my 1999 Ranger.

The reservoir had a rubber insert that I thought was a filter to keep dirt out of the system.  I kept the filter filled while I tried to bleed the system.  The “filter” was not filter it was a rubber isolator to keep air out away from the fluid.  When I removed the “filter” to clean it I found that there was no fluid under it.

As soon as I added oil it saw bubbles coming out of the line.  Bleeding the system was easy after that.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I bought a Mercedes clutch mastercyl (aftermarket) that dont had the inlet drilled deep enough so no fluid enterd the master
that was a pain in the but to blead

I got double- hooked in 1967. Ed Lowther let me sit in his 427 Cobra, running, at the Glen 500 at Watkins Glen. And I went for a ride in a '64 R-code Galaxie 500

Damn Gene thats just hard to top!

My admission ticket to the '65 USRRC race at Watkins Glen. I still have all the old race programs

Well some of us have to be happy with the lokal abandoned war airfield with some austin mini, Volvo PV
and some stinking twostroke SAABs and DKW ::) ;D

Definitely have to keep the passion alive with the younger crowd.  My son is 8 months old (we had him a bit later in life than most, no regrets) and he absolutely loves loud noises.  If I fire up the Mach 1, or the straight-piped Coyote truck, tractor, chain saw, etc, he goes wild with excitement.  He also goes nuts if I flip on one of the guitar amplifiers, so I'm not allowed to do that if it's too close to his naps or bedtime.

My stepson had a boy 1.5 years ago. Wife was  there this weeked doing the mandatory granny work
First word he learned was Tractor and goes wild when he sees a tractor outside

My sister got a grandkid about two yesrs ago, This christmas he got a toy chainsaw with sound
The next day he was bussy cutting Down the Christmas three.  And he have never seen someon using
a chainsaw.
His first word was also tractor and goes wild when he sees a tractor. They where out walking when there
was an abandened old tractor.  they put him up in the seat and emedeatly he had lefthand on the wheel.
and right hand on the shifter making engine sounds ??? ??? He never saw someone driving tractor up to that point.
If there is reincarnation,,,,That kid is my dad reincarnated

Im going to teash this twoguys so much :D :D :D Only problem with the education plan is
Stepsons wife is a POLICE officer ;D ;D ;D ;D

The world would be better if every kid had an Uncle Heo :)

I also have a cousin that is a childbooks author, that kind that want to hug the whole world
She was visiting a few years ago she have a boy that was 10-11 years at that moment.
That was extremly interested in guns, his mother was not that pleased with his interest
My father showed him his gun collection the kid thought he had ended up i heaven ;D

Well like the "instigator" i am  i showed him my 1851 Navy Colt and how to load it.
i loaded the first bore with just a mild powderload and paper the next i gave a full load
and a bullet

I said to the kid, lets go out and fire it. He looked at me as i was Santaclaus
I showed him how to handel a gun and told him to cock it and fire it
Everything went well so i asked if he wanted to fire next bore
yess yess i want to

I told him next round will have a much louder bang and recoil
He still wanted to fire so i told him to cock the hammer and fire
He fired with a big bang, big smoke cloud from the blackpowder, the kid just standed quiet staring
And then started laughing.

His mother came running out with a wild look in her eyes. Whats happening?
Kid standing with a smoking revolver in his hand laughing hysterical

Well i just learn him to shoot a little i said;D ;D ;D ;D

OHHHHH i should have understand not to leave you two together
out of sight >:( >:( Did you got scared Ture?

Nooo mum it was the coolest thing, the bang and recoil and smoke and the bullet hit the water and sparks and fire
Mum i want a gun like that
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Heo, we all get to make up our own minds about the things we experience as we live our life.

Regardless of ones political, social, or environmental stand, it is very important to offer to others an actual experience, rather than being left hearing an often propaganda directed, agenda mindset telling you what things are.

Based on your description of the kids parents it seems plausible that kid has received the Greta Thunberg agenda riddled version regarding vehicles.

Hopefully the kid will, somehow, look into things on his own and learn a more honest story regarding such things.
He does not need to be converted into a gear head, or convinced old cars are good in some instances.
He just needs to see the reality of how others, who are not eco warriors against such things, are still good people enjoying things they like.

Showing people the enjoyment of your passion is one of lifes better aspects.

At the very least, I think you cemented yourself....likely forever, as the "Cool Uncle" who likes to have some fun and might show you a thing or two......just don't tell mom okay.

I could not said it better my self :)

I remember going to the track when I was around 5 years old, the engine noises and the colors of the cars was intoxicating. When we were kids and they were tuning the car in the driveway and the fenders would be shaking and it was so loud you couldn’t talk to your cousin right next to you. Them testing the car in the street in front of the house open headers yeah well it don’t get to much better than that.

The kid had a story to tell his friends whe he got home ;D ;D ;D

And that's all it takes....one awesome memory....to make a kid a gearhead. ;D  I'm sure Mom and Dad will have some damage control on their hands for some time to come...lol

I bet he remember that moment for the rest of his life. Dad will to, but in his case it is probably not a cherished memory ;D ;D ;D
