Me.....8.65!
-
8.59. Go Jay!
-
8.78 for me.
-
8.88 foot brake
8.79 trans brake
-
Does anyone know what time on todays video Jay ran?
-
Somewhere in the high 8.80's. It takes a whole lot of power to get a car that big and heavy to get well into the deep 8's.

The Ultimate FE Intake Manifold Shootout or The Great FE Intake Comparo, same thing. ::)
Great pass Jay! :D
-
Man that looked easy didn't it.....
Way to go!
-
8.69 for me I said 8.61 on another forum but shit how much faster could you take off
-
I'm going way off the chart, after reading of all Jay's setbacks and still making the program, I'm guessing there is more in the tune and driver technique. 8.48, I like the number and actually hope he bests it. I think that depending on track and weather conditions his ets will steadily improve.
Jay deserves a title way above Hero!
-
I think Jay will have to knock a few tenths off that 8.91 in order to hold off that Nova in his class. It's a stout combo, despite being powered by an orange lump!

Lots of heavy hitters in Drag Week these days, that's for sure. But that Nova has to finish, and that ain't always easy :)
Jays engine has been dynoed plenty, so there probably isn't much left there unless the air is good, which it should be this week. Calling for upper 70's with low dewpoints, and engines love that, especially if he can get his runs in early while it's still cool. Any ET improvements will have to come from the transbrake and really good traction, which looked pretty darned good today. Of course a good 4 speed would probably help ;D
-
I just looked at the results on Hot Rod's website, and the Nova is just a little over a tenth behind me. Should be a great race, assuming my car lasts ::)
-
Jay goes 8.88 @ 149

Jay goes 9.11 @ 148
-
Along with the 9.06 that the Nova ran, that's going to make a REALLY close finish at the end of the day, assuming neither runs quicker yet today.
According to my math, that gives Jay a .05 lead as of right now. that is CLOSE. I'm guessing he'll take that and move on. I know I would.

Nurse! prepare me 6 cases of JB Weld, stat! Good luck!
-
Yikes, had to shut it down on two runs after the 9.11 pass.
I can't watch with sound so don't know what's up.
-
Jay made 2 passes where it looked like engine quit.
Just made pass 8.94 @ 150!
NICE!

Whew that's a relief.
Wonder what happened on those two middle runs?
-
I watched the first 2 runs and I appeared to be traction/poor track conditions that slowed him. Many of the faster cars struggled 1st and 2nd runs. Jim

8.88 foot brake
8.79 trans brake
Your 8.88 wins! I guess though it was a transbrake 8.88. Close enough I say!
-
Lol I was sure Jay wasn't going to use the trans-brake because I thought he was still running the C4 that bit him a few years back. Figured he'd be a little gun-shy. I don't know when the Glide' happened but it was certainly up to the task. One of many wise choices by Jay that contributed to his win. 8)
