FE spotted at Pomona
« on: February 10, 2018, 02:57:47 PM »
Hemi Joel is taking in the Winternationals this weekend in Pomona California. He spotted this FE powered Ranchero and asked me to post it here for the group.

Judging by the black and white picture on the windshield, that thing's been around for a while. Not so sure about the weird cut-out on the rear fenderwells, but I think I could overlook that with the cool factor involved 8)

Wow, very cool!  8)

Yeah, that pic seems to show a fuel injected, not blown, engine from long ago.

The sign says he's had it since 1962. It has been through many variations of the 427. I love the 57 to 58 rancheros.

I think the body lines in the rear quarter make the cut look worse than it really is,up close it may look a little better

Tommy Tucker  Raced the car since the '60's at local drag strips ( mostly Irwindale) as it was close to his tire stores. His motto was "If you're not Tuckered , you're not tired". He raced it with FE power for as long as I remember it , though not always supercharged. He supported and loved drag racing. There were several FE powered '57s in the So Cal area , his was the only Ranchero .

I like it !! Header gaskets sure look easy compared to my 63 Fairlane , if the picture not deceiving a proper gasser fender radius would be sweet
