Finally (sort of)the engine is ready to start. Waiting for a radiatorhose shall be here
tomorrow at lunch, prime the oil system, put back dist, plugs, and boom.... fire perhaps
Chased radiatorhoses the whole day ??? No one have those universal hoses anymore
Only one gas station left and they sell hotdogs and porn mags.  Two parts stores, first
one the guy locked at me with big stupid cow eyes when i asked for a 2 inch radiatorhose.
Noooo....Don't knooooow.....what that is.......second store the guy really tried to help me.
He found one hose he could order,I had to build the other of straight hose and 90 degree exhaust
bends. Tried truck repair shops,Tractor repair shops no hose
Needed Shell rotella oil to break in the cam...no shell station in a 100 miles radius.
We had two Shell, one gulf, one OK.one Esso, one Nynäs stations in the past in this town all of them
had spare parts at least plugs, filters, hoses. Now if you are lucky they have wiperblades....I had to order oil :o
20 years ago i could have bought what i needed 10 a clock at night from a gas station
this world is going down the drain :'(
Anyway fire it up tomorrow then start to get it back in the car  trying to have it drivabel saturday

Yes the times are (and have been) changing!  :o  what, no WalMart?  That's where I've been buying my Rotella.  I doubt that my local Shell gas station has it!  Have you tried Rockauto.com?   I know they have name-brand molded rad hoses for our cars for about US$ 10.00 each but not sure how much they will ding you for shipping.  Would be easy to find out though.

Only one gas station left and they sell hotdogs and porn mags.

Sweden is famous for porn, but not sure about the hotdogs ;D ;D

Auto parts stores are no different in the U.S. these days. Most of the people are clueless about anything that isn't "bling" related. When it comes to older cars...forget it ::)

Actually not sure about the porn mags. May by this Feminist
government have banned them ??? So that leave them with
only hot dogs that taste.....well they have a long way to fame of any kind
I miss the old kind of  Speedshops, Dark with a dirty oil stained
hardwood desk with Catalogues on a shelf under it and a guy
behind the desk that could find parts in a Catalogue if he don't had
it on the shelf's. They had racks with radiator hoses, fanbelts, sparkplugs, spraycans
You brought your own can and bought oil by the liter cheap, Gasket material on a roll
UNF and UNC bolts  and nuts.....Only bling was a dusty rack of little trees on the desk
beside the cash register :D

Nice Heo!  Engine sure looks classy and pretty  :)  Love the finned valve covers with the 390 eagles.

Keep us posted on the install!

Great! I'd not worry about small leaks, oil or coolant. If you can while on vacation, torque down all the easy topside bolts, hose clamps, etc. when the engine is cold.
