i may be asking a stupid question,im bad for that,but i heard about a racing cheat, fe only, where you can run your favorite solid cam and use hyd lifters and pass tech.im not a racer except a street race or two here and there.im just curious.anyone ever heard of this?

Camshafts are designed differently, and not compatible for any length of time.  Will work short term, but---.  On the roller camshafts, you can run solid roller lifters on a hydraulic roller, but must take up the clearance to ~.004" for them to work.  Again, not advisable but some folks will try anything in a pinch.  Joe-JDC

there is no way i would do something like that,i was just curious about what they were doing. i didnt understand,i only heard part of the story.i run my comet on the street,not the track,so it would be silly to even consider it.
