Alright Mike like Rory said hey first time out. Was anyone with you to feel the tires after the burnout to see if they were sticky. Nine years is a long time but might still be good if indoors. As far as the misfire I would just go over the basics you know plug gaps and check porcelain for cracks ignition wires for proper crimps. I know we always try to do everything perfect but hey it’s hotrodding. It wouldn’t be any fun if everything went right. ;)

It’s sad that they get away with this stuff. Probably have an army of lawyers that squash the little guys

So I guess either one of the inserts are good for 650 lb spring pressure.

Some of those prices are crazy. I’m in crooked NY and my car insurance is 200 a month and home owners is 1500 or so. Mike 7570 get the hell out of California and you could build an extra race car.

I hope he brought a new pair of draws. My brother in law was in Lights of 6-9 and the times got lower and lower almost every round. If I remember correctly his fastest time was a 4.01 and that wasn’t competitive.

FE Technical Forum / Re: Turning Solid Drag Rotors?
« on: March 30, 2024, 12:07:49 PM »
JMO but if it’s pulsating now you making it thinner is just a temporary band aid. The rotors are made with a hard material and the pads compressing them and the heat makes it almost impossible. Even with a band and a new bit at the perfect speed chatter is most likely going to happen. Are new rotors not obtainable any more or are they ridiculously expensive? I’m only speaking for myself I don’t have a lot of money so when I get something which is normally more than I can spend I usually weight out all options. Most of the time doing it the right way the first time is the cheapest in the long run.

I have an old Mickey Thompson aluminum rod from our 389 Pontiac and it had the serrations that why I said that was a MT rod. The aluminum rod didn’t have those bolts though.
