At $750 I'd buy it, makes a bunch of torque on a strong engine and the looks can't be beat.

If it's the MT, make sure it includes (or you have a line on) the distributor setup. Mine used an old Mallory that had been machined to fit, plus the pump drive extension and spacer. Love the look.

Sorry JayB but cross ram looks  can be beat.
I've got both a MT and an Edelbrock Cross ram  and the Edel. 6X2 looks  better in my opinion.
Performance ??? but looks ------

Here is a picture I took 2 years ago when getting ready to evac. for a wildfire. I've only sold the BT 2X4 and the TBird 3X2. I've got a few more multi carb setup's that didn't get into the picture.

How about a cross ram with a bunch of carbs? I call it my quad dual or hillbilly split dominator.

Now that's thinking outside the box!

If this is the Edelbrock X-F66 intake, I might suggest flipping the carburetors on one side so that they are opposed from right to left, so that the presentation is symmetrical for the two engine banks.  One would at least initially believe that if the throttles in tipping pointed outward (toward the valve covers) into the plenum you would potentially experience the effect of lengthening the inlet distance to the inlet valve, and flipping the carburetor(s) so that the throttles in tipping pointed inward more pointed at the inlet valve would effectively shorten it.  Believe me, the throttle angle has a significant effect on the flow presentation within the plenum area to the port runners.

Yep, makes the throttle linkage a pain, but you got it this far!          ;D

I think Tommy's setup probably works better than a single 4 on each side.  The big issue with either of the crossram intakes is fuel distribution to the outside cylinders, and his arrangement solves that.  The other thing that I've always thought would work would be to put an EFI individual injector setup on one of those intakes, which would also solve the fuel distribution problem.

Interestingly enough, I have been in touch with Blair Patrick as he was dyno testing a 482 with a M/T cross ram. He said in testing he found that the outer cylinders ran very rich which is counter intuitive to what one might think.
It could be the answer as to why the Edelbrock cross ram runs better. The squared off ends of the plenum on the Ed unit might this from happening.
As far as turning the carbs around on my manifold goes, I'm not going to do it. I've got more invest in this experiment than I want to and I am skeptical on what the results may be. It'll be nifty at car shows and a tunnel ram equipped 482 is waiting in the wings for when I'm done with this mess. If you're interested in the motor this manifold is going on, the specs are in the Members Projects section of the FE Forum in my Comet's build up.

Fun!
