FE Technical Forum / Please Help! Holley Terminator 2x4 mounting issue
« on: November 13, 2023, 12:02:44 AM »
Ok, please forgive my ignorance here, but as you can see from the pictures the carbs do not fit when mounted sideways (which they have to be due to space). I looked around for some sort of adapter plate or something, and was unable to find anything. I waited 6mo for this to finally come in and now I'm at a complete loss and hope I didn't waste almost $3k. If anyone has any advice at all I'd greatly appreciate it.

FE Technical Forum / Porting TFS heads and intake
« on: July 31, 2023, 01:38:33 PM »
Would anybody be able to put me into contact with someone that has experience porting these heads and intake? I understand that Joe retired, and wasn't sure if there was anyone else that was the goto around here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hly-550-1076 Has anybody run this system on their dual quad FE? Forgive my ignorance, but would this be a correct fit (I'm using the Trick Flow Tunnel Wedge 2x4)? I'm seriously considering going the EFI route and really like the sort of "original" look this would give. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

FE Technical Forum / BigBore RPM 427 (511ci) build questions
« on: May 29, 2023, 01:43:09 PM »
Please forgive my ignorance as this is my first engine build, but I've got some questions about piston size, compression, etc.  Here's the specifics thus far:

Car: 62 Tbird Convertible street/strip (pump gas but I don't mind using an octane boost)
Block: Robert Pond Motorsports big bore 427 iron block
Bore: Machine shop says it'll be 4.375 final bore size
Heads: Trick Flow
Rockers: Harland Sharp Roller Rockers
Crank: Forged 4.250
Intake: I have both a Blue Thunder 2x4 and a TFS Tunnel Wedge 2x4
Pistons: ? ? ? ?
Rods: ? ? ? ?

I'm to the point of purchasing need to purchase rods and pistons but I'm not sure what to do. The only 4.375 pistons I can find on Summit are for Mopar (does that matter?). Do I need to have the pistons custom built? Also, what do I do about piston top (dish, flat, etc)? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!
