Those were on 428 Super cobra jets , if I remember right it helped the factory balance with the heavier rods that SCJ’s had , 289 hypo had a similar deal

One must have that weighted piece if the engine/crank/rod combo requires it.

Mine is internally balanced, so no need. But, I've never seen or heard of them, so it's interesting.

The 1979 and newer 460's also used a similar counterweighted crankshaft spacer.  The balance for the 460 counterweighted spacer is subtly different than the 428 SCJ spacer.
