Cord, have you looked at / talked to Waldron's exhaust in Ohio?  They make kits for many old cars and will do custom larger diameters of their standard kits.  I bought an H-Pipe from them and it was accurate and good quality.  Or you could find a muffler shop that does custom work.

Dan, for the metering block info. I would contact Drew Pojedinec who is on this forum and Air Fuel Spark on FB.

Alan, +1 on Classicautoair.com.  IIRC they're based in FL.  I bought the compressor, valves, and fan switch from them for the factory Selectaire in my '63 Galaxie.  Also bought the expansion valve and evaporator for my '66 Fairlane with factory AC.

Jeff, I would also consult Drew Pojedenic who is on this forum and Air Fuel Spark on FB.  He would likely have the original Holley calibration to refer to.

Big Congrats!  Agree with all the sentiments above.  It is a great life and well deserved.

One big lesson is you need to have something to retire to.  Most of us here don't have that problem with our old Ford (and other!) projects.  There are many others I've worked with who had demanding careers and didn't make the time to develop other interests along the way so they get quickly bored at home or continue working till they drop or get laid off.  I retired from 35+ years in the petroleum industry and haven't looked back.   8)

Yes I'm also very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing.  It was a blessing for you to have him all these years and to work on his Packard together.  He must have had a full life.

I was 22 when my Dad passed suddenly but I still think about him every day.  I especially think of him when I get in my '63 Galaxie.  He was a Ford employee and got new company cars every year so he drove 2 different ones when they were new.

Yes, Merry Christmas to Heo and all!

Heo, it's been fun following your stories.  I think we've all learned a lot about Sweden that we don't see in the news... How is your son's JagLane coming along?

Alan, when you say it lost a lot of oil pressure when it warmed up how low did it get?  Was it at idle or all through the RPM range?  No doubt the bearings need replacing and the engine has given good service.

The guy I use for my '63 is Bud Potter @ budsclassiccars.com.  He took over the business from Greg Donahue and specializes in '63-'64. He has sources for parts that aren't being reproduced and is reasonably priced.

Yes, Happy Turkey Day to all!  I've learned so much here and hope I've been able to add a little too.

Doug, +1 with Stangman I also use American Collectors however I've not had to make a claim in the 20+ years I've used them.  The rates are based on my declared value for each of the 2 cars.

In my younger days, the first time I pulled the distributor on my 390 Mustang the shaft came loose and fell.  The car was almost new at the time so I have to guess that Ford didn't install a retainer washer in my engine either.  Luckily my buddy who was helping me, his Father owned an auto parts store so we were able to go and get a replacement since it was at night (as usual).  Left the original shaft in the pan never to be seen or heard from again!

Greg, not sure about the mouldings but Bud Potter at budsclassiccars.com has repro moulding clips that work well (I've used them on my car). He specializes in '63-64 Galaxies only.  He may be able to find the mouldings for you too.

I've been running TCP variable-rate coil springs and their lower struts on my 66 Fairlane for several years now, street driving only.  My upper arms are NOS Ford and lowers are Moog stock replacement.  The quality of the TCP stuff seems excellent but the NVH is significantly higher due to the struts having little to no "give" where they attach to the front crossmember compared to the stock struts having big rubber donuts.  It's not noticeable in most driving, but if you hit any type of washboard surface it really rattles the front end!  If I did it again I would probably go with the stock type struts and replace the rubber donuts with a harder elastomer to obtain some "give".  IIRC I'm also running a 1" sway bar from TCP with their aluminum bearing blocks.  These are also excellent quality and I definitely recommend this sway bar setup for a street-driven shock tower car.
